What We're About
Our Be More Social groups take place in central Boulder, Colorado. They are designed for young adults ages 18+ who deal with issues such as shyness or social anxiety. Some identify as neurodivergent. All want the opportunity to develop social connections with likeminded peers. Be More Social groups provide a safe and supportive environment to get together in person for fun, engaging activities facilitated by professional, supportive executive function and therapeutic coaches. Participants not only build connections and friendships, they develop the ability to feel more comfortable interacting with others. Please note, Be More Social groups are not psychotherapy groups.

1. Quest Group
Group members, known collectively as “heroes”, will embark on an 8-week journey while being supported by an experienced Quest guide, a coach at Collegiate Coaching Services. Each member will identify 1 or more goals or tasks that are important to them, and work towards achievement.
Members receive a “Hero’s Journey” journal which is central to the group. The Quest guide will lead each hero through a curated road map (group curriculum) meant to support them to boldly venture into their individual journey towards achieving something important to them. The Quest, to be successful, requires all involved to work with each other to overcome obstacles, threats, and more. Come and find your calling!
Cost: $40 per weekly group meetup
Commitment: Requires an 8-week commitment

2. Yoga Group
When: Mondays beginning 6/3/24.
9:30 am – 10:30 am.
Organized by: Alexis VanSingel
Cost: $25/per meetup. Requires a 4-meetup commitment.
About the Yoga Group: Learn basic yoga poses, proper breathing, and engage in positive thinking. The relaxation techniques incorporated in yoga benefit participants in many ways such as, managing stress levels, improving sleep, and physical health benefits. Yoga can be very effective in developing coping skills and attaining a more positive outlook on life. Yoga mats provided by Collegiate Coaching Services (CCS).
About the Group Leader: Alexis VanSingel is an executive function coach, therapeutic coach, and certified yoga instructor.

2. Hiking Group
Explore hiking trails found in Boulder’s beautiful open space and park systems. Hiking group is a time to engage in healthy movement and to connect socially with peers. Hiking trails are chosen by the group leader and are accessible for all, including beginner hikers. Locations include Bobolink Trail and Wonderland Trail.
Cost: $25 per meetup.
Commitment: Requires a 4-meetup commitment.

3. Board Games Group
Connect with other young adults who like to play board games. Participants collectively determine which games will be played each week. This group supports the opportunity to meet like-minded peers, engage face-to-face and not only have fun, but also develop more social confidence.
Cost: $25 per weekly meetup.
Commitment: Requires a 4-week commitment.

4. Lunch & Lawn Games Group
When: Fridays beginning 6/7/24 through end of summer.
11:30 am – 12:45 pm.
Organized by: Alex Agosta and Giles Talley
Cost: $25/per meetup. Requires a 4-meetup commitment.
About the Lunch & Lawn Games Group: At Greenleaf Park, steps away from Collegiate Coaching Services (CCS), participants engage in a variety of outdoor lawn games and enjoy lunch provided by CCS. Everyone’s dietary needs are considered for each lunch to ensure everyone gets their needs met. This is a time to have fun with peers while building social confidence.
About the Group Leaders: Alex Agosta is an executive function coach experienced in working with young adults. She’s a community and social services professional with an educational background in mental health.
Giles Talley is an executive function coach who is experienced at helping young adults and youth find greater confidence through movement and activity.

5. Digital Wellness Group – Promoting Healthy Social Connections
When: Reach out for more information about day and time of this group.
Cost: $40/per meetup. Requires a 4-meetup commitment.
About the Digital Wellness Group: Want to develop a balanced relationship with technology that supports your overall health and wellness? The Digital Wellness Group will support you to balance your use of digital technology with face-to-face social connection, so you can achieve your goals related to academics, work, hobbies, and passions. You’ll receive information and guidance to help you develop a digital media wellness plan that supports positive social engagement in technology while prioritizing in-person connection.
About the Group Leader: Brianna Kennedy is passionate about cultivating a safe environment for young people to explore their relationships with technology and Digital Media Overuse (DMO) challenges. Bri uses her background and training in Clinical Mental Health Counseling to provide education on DMO, while facilitating an authentic group experience allowing members to develop connections with peers and build a network of support. Bri is excited to work with group members to establish a healthy balance of pro-social uses of technology in their lives.

• Be More Social meetup groups are organized by Collegiate Coaching Services (CCS) for young adults ages 18 and older in the Boulder, Colorado area.
• If you are not a current client of Collegiate Coaching Services, Beth Bonfiglio, Clinical Director, will conduct an assessment to review current goals and social needs.
• Attendance is important for participants to receive the full benefit of our groups. There will be no refunds for missed groups.
• All groups require an attendance commitment.
•Four meetups will be billed at a time.
