Dr. Lacey Taylor, Ph.D., is a Licensed Psychologist in the state of Colorado. She recently relocated to Boulder, CO from New York City, where she received her Doctorate in Clinical and Health Psychology. Her clinical focus has been in the treatment of anxiety and mood disorders among adolescents and adults. Dr. Taylor additionally specializes in health concerns including chronic pain, adjustment to injury and illness, and coping with chronic disease.
Dr. Taylor graduated from Cornell University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Development, and received her Doctoral Degree in Clinical Psychology (with Health Emphasis) from Yeshiva University. She trained at the American Institute for Cognitive Therapy in New York City, where she learned from renowned leaders in evidence-based treatment practices. She has additionally held research positions at Harvard University, Columbia University, and the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, where she conducted studies on childhood cognitive development, substance abuse treatment, and cultural influences on the expression of anxiety. Dr. Taylor has worked with adolescents and adults in a variety of settings, ranging from acute crisis inpatient hospitals to private practice outpatient offices. She has conducted group therapy, individual therapy, psychological assessment, and family support sessions throughout her clinical work.
Dr. Taylor employs an integrative approach to treatment, which includes tenets of cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT). Her light-hearted approach takes clients’ concerns seriously, while approaching them from a place of warmth and acceptance. Dr. Taylor understands that no two clients are alike, and utilizes her background in various therapeutic approaches to best match the needs of her clients. She challenges clients to work hard, and encourages clients to challenge her to do the same!
