DTEC/Digital Media Treatment & Education Center
Digital-Media Treatment & Education
Collegiate Coaching Services collaborates with their ‘sister program’, Digital Media Treatment & Education Center (DTEC) to provide an integrated therapeutic and clinical service to students and non-students alike who are struggling with academic success and/or employment, and digital media overuse. The DTEC team of expert clinicians specializes in the intervention, treatment and aftercare of overuse and addictions in the areas of video games, pornography, specific Internet applications, mobile devices and screens in general.
We support the client to both determine a plan to moderate or abstain from problematic applications and devices while also developing a plan to reintegrate digital media and specific Internet applications when the time is right, ultimately working to support academic, work, and social connection.
We specialize in treating co-occurring issues often experienced with digital media overuse, such as depression, ADHD, executive functioning deficits, anxiety, academic problems, relationship issues, and substance abuse.
We offer individual and family therapy, and group support to teens and adults.
Support Groups
We offer several no-cost support groups.
Presentations and Workshops
We provide presentations and workshops to college campuses, schools, clinicians, and private groups, as well as present at conferences around the country. Please contact us for availability.
Tracy Markle and her colleagues provide specialized presentations and workshops based on the group’s needs. They have presented to medical and dentistry groups, private and public schools, colleges, as well as at therapeutic and academic conferences. The presentations and workshops focus on all age groups and their particular problem areas and needs. For medical and mental health professionals our presentations and workshops provide examples of how Internet and video game addiction can be recognized in clinical practice. They present scientifically based and updated information about validated treatments and also explain how behavioral intervention and treatments are set up for children, teens, and young adults.
If you are interested in arranging a presentation or workshop, please contact Tracy Markle. Usually arrangements for presentations are booked at least three to six months in advance.
